Help! I can't just choose one!

Hi guys! I'm having a bit of a dilemma today. I wanted to post one picture of a living room that I was totally in love with. I mean head over heals, crazy about, weak at the knees, gaga over, in love with. However, I can't, I JUST CAN'T, pick one. I like way to many styles. So I decided to heck with picking just one. I'll draw inspiration from all five! Yeah, that's what I'll do! Wish me luck if I end up with a living room one day that looks like a circus that threw up. Beware of the lion, and the monkeys, oh and that bearded lady, she's crazy.

You can't help but stare at these stairways.

You know how in movies there is always a stairway scene. Either the girl is walking down the stairs to meet her date, or the husband is carrying his wife up the stairs for a night of romance. Well I never lived in house with a staircase, but I always wanted to be that girl that got swooped off her feet by a strong handsome man and carried up the stairs. So far I've got the handsome dude, but no staircase. 

When I told Chadd about my stairway fantasy (sounds romantic, huh) he said that maybe, just maybe, we could get a house with a staircase. Only to remember my wish when I'm carrying a vacuum or laundry up and down it all day long. But who wants to think about housework, on to the good stuff! Take a look at some beautiful stairways!

Design is a feeling.

Design is everywhere we go and everywhere we look and is subconsciously submitted to our brains. Great design is when a symbol creates an emotion inside a person. A feeling of love, shock, and sometimes disappointment. A feeling of hope or happiness. Great design does not always make us feel good or warm. Ever caught yourself crying after a sappy commercial? The one that always gets me is the one where there is video slideshow of animals and "Arms of an Angel" by Sarah McLachlan is playing in the background. It's a commercial wanting people to donate money to help abused and abandon animals. The sad animals and that strategically picked music speaks to my heart and makes my eyes tear up whenever its on my television. That's a wonderfully designed commercial. It makes you feel feelings right down to your very core. You think the company designed that commercial wanted to make us feel sorry for those animals? Of course they did and they communicated it beautifully.

Design is a way of communication.
