We're moving on up!

We bought a new bed yesterday! Yes we did. Our tiny full bed was getting smaller and smaller each time we slept on it and I'm sure you can imagine how small it felt since we sleep on it every night. We got a hell of a deal on a king size bed with matching end tables from a guy Chadd delivers too. We are going to pick out a new mattress this evening. I wish it would have came with the matching dresser but you can't have everything. I'm just gonna have to find one that goes great with the dark cherry wood.

I'm gonna post pictures as soon as we get it all put together. Maybe some before and after pictures of the whole bedroom would be a great treat. But for now I'm drawing tons inspiration from these bedrooms I found on Houzz.

Enjoy!

The last one is my favorite. Not sure how the fiancee will like the flowers though.

My Perfect Beach Getaway

I want to go to the beach, and sleep on a porch bed like this:

Watch TV in this living room (dogs included):

Grill in this kitchen:

And drink strawberry daiquiris with old friends on this porch:

Summer is almost over, I better book this trip soon.

Yeah well...

Ok guys, I'm all out of ideas for today. My brain just doesn't want to blog. But to give you guys an update on the house, we liked what we saw but we are thinking long and hard if we want to do all the work the house needs. So we are kinda of in a pickle at moment, being the end of our lease is coming up and we don't have a place to go. So it's either sign another year-long lease, buy the MAJOR fixer upper, or move back in with his parents. The last one is not an option, not that I don't love my future in-laws but seriously I'd rather rent.

But on the brighter side, I'm totally digging these looks right here!

Black and White, so classy. And I love the pops of pink.

All those colors! Just perfect, I think I might just have to try this with my dinning room.

Ahhh! I'm all over the board here. First bright colors, now soft neutrals. My house is gonna look so crazy!

Oh sweet blue. My fiancee's favorite color. It's sophisticated. LOVE.

Holly Dyment Interior Designer

I love Holly's use of color! It's so colorful, it makes you want to jump around and dance in each room. Lovely. I'm definitely drawing inspiration from her work. We are going to look again at the same house on Wednesday. Going to take Chadd's dad, who used own his own custom home building company before he became a fireman, to check the home's electrical and make sure it's weather proof before we move any further on it. I'm so excited! I want that house BAD!

Enjoy these photos, and go check out the rest of her portfolio here.

Stripes and Patterns

Hi friends! Sorry that I've been MIA for most of the week, but as you all know life sometimes gets in the way of blogging. Plus, you have to have a life to have a blog because otherwise what in the world would you write about.

So, on the this wonderful Friday, I'd like to show you that I'm really passionate about combining stripes and patterns. I found a few photos from House Beautiful and Elle Decor to show exactly what I mean.

Oh!!! AND I went and looked at a house on Wednesday, and I'm super excited about it! I'm so excited about it that I could punch a kindergardener in the face. Ok, not really but you get the idea.

The house needs a ton of work, but Chadd and I are up for the challenge! It actually has a formal foyer, how cool is that? I've never lived in a house where you didn't have to "make" your own entry way. So you can imagine that I'm going crazy looking through all my decorating magazines. Yep, it's driving Chadd crazy!

So hopefully if the house thing falls into place, there will definitely be more projects heading your way because what kind of design blog would this be if I didn't let all my readers know about my weekend projects. I haven't posted any yet, but right now our weekends are filled with family, wedding planning, and I'm not going to lie to you, partying. We can't seem to help it.

Enjoy these lovely photos of mixing strips with patterns!

Cottage/Country Style

I'm drawing all kinds of inspiration from these cottage/country style designs. I think I might be beginning to actually nail down a style I like. It's definitely been all over the map, but as of right now I'm really loving how these photos make me feel right at home. Exactly how I want my house to feel, like a comfy home.
